Quechua Cultural Immersion 4D/3N

Our adventure begins in the main square of Cusco. We take a bus to Amperes community 4:00 hours away to meet the host family. After lunch we go hike with alpacas for 49 minutes to a high point in the mountains and make an offering to mother nature (PACHAMAMA) then go back for dinner with the family.

Our day will be packed with great adventures and we start by helping the family with the morning labor, followed by breakfast and then helping to shepherd the alpacas and lamas or lend a hand in farming the potatoes, quinoa (depending on the season). We have lunch, then start with the 4-hour Quechua class where the teachers will be the members of the community. Quechua-speaking staff from Retreats and Tours Peru will be there to translate the class to English or Spanish. Finally, we have dinner with the host family.

After breakfast, we go visit the cave paintings of Manto, dated 3,000 years old or more. We will have lunch in the field and return to the village for Quechua class. You will have time to explore before the final dinner.

After breakfast, we listen to the musicians of the village before returning to Cusco. We have a stop at the hot springs of Lares, then have lunch, and finally back to Cusco.
